Chapter 5

Domestic Relations
Section 1 - Concurrence with State Courts
     In any actions handled by the Courts of the State of Minnesota or any other state the Red Lake Court will uphold and enforce all decisions as to support, alimony, adoptions etc.

Section 2 - Custody of Dependent, Neglected and Delinquent Children
     The Red Lake Court of Indian Offenses shall have jurisdiction over cases pertaining to Dependent, Neglected and Delinquent children and may be guided by the laws of the State of Minnesota.

Section 3 - Paternity
     In the trial of paternity cases the Court may be guided by the laws of the State of Minnesota.

Section 4 - Appeals
     Any appeals from a judgment of the Red Lake Court pertaining to any section of this chapter shall be heard in accordance with the section on appeals provided in the Rules of Court.

Section 5 - Jurisdiction
     Where the state law refers to the City or County, the Red Lake court shall interpret such reference to mean the Red Lake Indian reservation irrespective of the county or village in which the persons involved may reside, provided they live within the boundaries of the Reservation and are Indians residing on the Reservation.  The Red Lake Court may be guided by the laws of the State of Minnesota pertaining to counties
