Red Lake Code of Tribal Offenses
Section 70 - Unauthorized Leasing
     Any Indian who leases all or any part of land assigned to him by the General Council in violation of his grant of standard assignment, shall be deemed guilty of an offense and upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a period not to exceed thirty days or to a fine not to exceed $60.00 or to both such imprisonment and fine with cost.  Penalty imposed to be determined by the nature of the offense.

Section 71 - Unauthorized Hay Cutting or Use of Agricultural Land
     Any Indian who cuts and makes hay on land not assigned to him or uses such land for agricultural purposes without the proper permit shall be deemed guilty of an offense and upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a period not to exceed thirty days or to a fine not to exceed $60.00 or to both such imprisonment and fine with cost.  The court may order in addition to the penalties imposed that the offender pay the required fee for the stumpage for the use of the land into the Red Lake Tribal Fund; or the court may order that the hay or products, if any, be sold, and the proceeds, less any cost of harvesting and selling, be deposited to said fund.

Section 72 - Vagrancy
     Any employable Indian who shall wander about in idleness, living off of others and has no property or money sufficient for his (her) support, or loafs or loiters in any village or town on the Red Lake Indian Reservation without any attempt to obtain regular employment, shall be deemed guilty of an offense, and upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a period not to exceed thirty days or to a fine not to exceed $60.00 or to both such imprisonment and fine with cost.  Penalty to be determined by the nature of the offense.
