Red Lake Code of Tribal Offenses
 
for a period not to exceed ninety days, or to a fine not to exceed $180.00 or to both such imprisonment and fine with cost.  Penalty imposed to be determined by the nature of the offense.

Section 22 - Defacing, Destroying, or Removing Signs or Markers
     Any Indian who is not the owner thereof and without lawful authority, shall willfully injure, deface, disfigure, remove or destroy any highway marker, reflector, sign or any posting upon the Red Lake Indian Reservation, shall be deemed guilty of an offense and upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a period not to exceed fifteen days or to a fine of $30.00 or to both such imprisonment and fine with cost.

Section 23 - Embezzlement
     Any Indian who shall, having lawful custody of property not his own, appropriate the same to his own use with the intent to deprive the owner thereof, shall be deemed guilty of embezzlement and upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a period not to exceed six months or to a fine not to exceed $360.00 or both such imprisonment and fine with cost.  Penalty imposed to be determined by the nature of the offense.

Section 24 - Extortion
     Any Indian who shall willfully, by making false charges against another person or by any other means whatsoever, extort or attempt to extort any money, goods , property, or anything else of value, shall be deemed guilty of an offense and upon conviction thereof shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a period not to exceed sixty days or to a fine not to exceed $120.00 or to both such imprisonment and fine with cost.
