The Rodiya: Outcaste People of Sri Lanka
Rattan work; wig-making; drumming, both the manufacture of excellent drums for trade and the making of music itself.  But begging has been their mainstay.  The government now discourages it and is trying to ease the Rodiya into farming.  The agriculture programs and housing programs where high-caste people worked with Rodiya on construction are making slow but actual progress.
