INDIAN UPRISING

KFAI's Indian Uprising for March 6th

White privilege shapes the U.S. by Professor Robert Jensen, School of Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin.  "White privilege, like any social phenomenon, is complex. In a white supremacist culture, all white people have privilege, whether or not they are overtly racist themselves. There are general patterns, but such privilege plays out differently depending on context and other aspects of one's identity (in my case, being male gives me other kinds of privilege). Rather than try to tell others how white privilege has played out in their lives, I talk about how it has affected me."  http://uts.cc.utexas.edu/%7Erjensen/freelance/racearticles.htm

Definitions of Racism and Actions of Oppression to include a list of typical statements, i.e., Other ethnic groups had to struggle. Why is it so different for the Blacks, Indians and Latinos?  &  Clarification of "Typical Statements."  &  Commitment to Combat Racism. Mail a SASE with 60 cents postage to Chris Spotted Eagle #61, KFAI Radio, 1808 Riverside Ave., Mpls, MN 55454, to get a copies of these lists sent back to you.

Academic freedom, not racial identity, is the issue: Professor's ideas, though unpopular, deserve to be heard by Mary Annette Pember, Guest Columnist, St. Paul Pioneer Press.  Pember is a Red Cliff Ojibwe and past President of the Native American Journalist Association.
